    Manitoba invited 221 candidates to apply for the nomination
    On December 6, 2019, Manitoba invited new candidates in the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). In EOI draw #78, the province issued Letters of Advice to Apply (LAA) to 165 candidates in the Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream. The lowest score in this stream was 522. In the Skilled Workers Overseas stream, MPNP issued 23 LAAs under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative. The lowest score in this stream was 718 points. In addition, MPNP invited 33 candidates in the International Education Category. In total, Manitoba issued 221 LAAs in this round and 18 of them were issued to candidates who have a valid Express Entry profile and job seeker validation code. In total, Manitoba invited 7,365 candidates under all streams of MPNP in 2019.

    BCPNP announced its schedule for invitation rounds in December
    British Columbia usually issues invitations to apply (ITA) to qualified registrants every week. On December 9, 2019, BCPNP announced that there will be no invitations rounds for the holidays period from December 23 to January 5, 2020. The final invitation round of the year will take place on December 17, 2019. BC will resume the issuance of ITAs in January 2020.

    New Brunswick announced new recruitment events
    New Brunswick updated the list of events the province will hold abroad. On January 29-30, 2020, the province will provide information sessions on New Brunswick’s Provincial Immigration Programs in Warsaw, Poland. On February 1-2, 2020, New Brunswick will hold the same recruitment session in Kyiv, Ukraine. These events will target the following occupations: NOC 7511 – Transport truck drivers, NOC 8241 – Logging machinery operators, NOC 9526 – Mechanical assemblers and inspectors. On February 3, 2020, the province will also have an information session in Kyiv aimed at attracting specialists in the next fields: Health Care, Skilled Trades and Manufacturing, Client and Customer Services, Tourism, Hospitality and Food & Beverage Services, Early Childhood Education, and Information Technology (IT) sectors.

    2021 graduate program application deadlines announced
    Applying for Canadian master’s programs has always been difficult. It is advised that applicants prepare their applications well in advance to avoid any delays. As of now, many applications for fall admission have closed for 2020. However, Canadian institutions have already announced application deadlines for 2021. Offers are sent out at different times according to institution and program of specialization. The first batch of offer letters for MBA programs typically go out near the end of December or early January. Other master’s program offers will roll out between February and April. Once an offer is received, prospective students should apply for a study permit, complete their medical examination, and apply for student residence.
