Some OINP applicants receive fraudulent calls asking for their personal information
On July 28, 2023, the Government of Ontario announced that some applicants had reported fraudulent calls from individuals pretending to be the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) staff, using the phone number 416-327-0374. These callers ask for updates on temporary resident documents or other personal immigration information. The caller may be using Caller ID spoofing to make their phone number appear as someone else. The Provincial Government announced that OINP staff never contact clients by phone to request payment, inquire about immigration status, or update personal information.
